Straw Dogs is a 2011 American psychological thriller/action film which is based on L.A. screenwriter David Sumner relocates with his wife to her hometown in the deep South. There, while tensions build between them, a brewing conflict with locals becomes a threat to them both. It is a remake of Sam Peckinpah's 1971 film Straw Dogs, itself lightly based on the Gordon Williams novel The Siege of Trencher's Farm.
